A Democratic Society: America's Preventive Nature The idea of a Democratic Society I think democracy is something that has to be taken back by the people. With respect to the government that truly does work for it's people, we've now entered into an era where government works for itself, thus killing off the idea of a Democratic Society. There are numerous factors that play into the idea of democracy, and unfortunately these factors are being denied entrance into a Democratic Society. For example race; Race is now a ploy, a political agenda within the democratic party, as well as illegal immigration, in order to receive votes from an uneducated society. The split between Republican and Democrat has further put a spike in the road for the idea of a Democratic Society. Being “Politically Correct” is now more important to liberals than freedom of speech which has always been protected under the U.S. Constitution. Mainstream Media has probably done the most damage to the idea, as it is they who spread the message of political agenda via false narratives and reports. This false narrative puts a thought of privilege in the minds of people who want the world to work in a certain way, with disregard towards anyone who disagrees. The idea of democracy working for a people will only work if the people have been properly educated, not manipulated, but educated in a way that teaches them to absorb what is said, but also to self-teach themselves in order to make up their own minds. A Democratic Society revolves around the ideas of what benefits the people most; Fairness, equality, and freedom are among the most beneficial effects of a Democratic Society, but bias, which I will be speaking about shortly, has brought about a decline in the rate at which we approach such a society where everything and everyone are equal, and treated as equal. To make room for a Democratic Society we must apply the principals of Microeconomics, in the sense that we must trade our bias for opportunity. We can not be biased in a Democratic Society, as the sheer nature of bias prevents equality. So what are some of the contributing factors preventing us from reaching the Democratic Society that we all seem to pine for? In the next section I will review the focal points that, too me, seem to limit our chances of arriving at a state of equality in the near future. Please feel free to question me with your own affirmations as you read and give thought to this subject of interest.

Race and Diversity in a Democratic Society On the matter of race and diversity, we can never have a Democratic Society where only "Black Lives Matter". The idea of candidates being booed off stage, or surrounded by groups of domestic terrorists' for saying that "ALL Lives Matter" has completely trumped the idea of a democratic society. On the matter of political agenda, the suffering of minorities has been used and abused by a democrat run government wishing to retain control of office, thus enabling, and encouraging, domestic terrorism, a higher crime rate, and a more divisive world than we have seen since the Civil Rights Movement. We can not have a one-sided democracy, for there is no such thing. When the people have been manipulated, there is no democracy, there is only political agenda and gain based on the views passed down to our youth in colleges across the nation. School Textbooks themselves have been altered during the Obama administration in order to cast a more liberal view on the country. Tactics like these are far from the morals required to sustain and live in a Democratic Society. Bernie Sanders, for example, speaks as though he's for the people, but one could argue that political agenda means more to him than the idea of a Democratic Society. For example, his plan to give everything away for free would in fact cost the American tax payer more than he's willing to say, for it is the tax payers he intends to shove the bill on, just like Obamacare. People wish to help others, but not in a way that forces them to do so. They work for their family to provide for their needs, but in the world of Bernie Sanders, people will be required to work for every family in America, this includes families in poverty being forced to work and pay for middle class freedoms. These views are not apart of a Democratic Society where the people would vote to decide if they want to pay for anothers care in order to redistribute wealth. The fact is, and I mean no disrespect to Democrats and Liberals, but Republicans believe in separation of government and state, giving power back to people and state. Democrats however, believe in more government control, such as the Planned Parenthood situation, a government funded organization that we all know can easily be replaced in one single day by community/health centers, as well as schools themselves. The idea of a Democratic Society is lost on those who believe in more government to control the daily way we all live. Voting has become another limitation of a Democratic Society. The right to vote is given to all people, regardless of race, gender, or religious beliefs, but the dilemma of voting in current society is simply bias. A Democratic Society requires a moral clause of fairness that in current society is limited to race and diversity, as it is the point of origin for mental thought via systematic race/gender baiting by politicians and public figures who wish to progress their

3 agendas in exchange for a seat in political office, profit from Television ratings, or market finance of numerous varieties. For example, in a Democratic Society the people would vote based on politics alone; There would be no personal feelings involving race, nor gender, but in our current society the idea of ethnicity is responsible for the electing of Americas first black president Barack Obama. Let me clarify that assumption by citing Armstrong Williams, a cousin of Pastor Clementa Pinckney,

who was murdered in Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Charleston, South Carolina, by a racist mass shooter named Dylann Roof. Mr. Williams brings up many relevant points in a C-Span interview with The Washington Journal's Steve Scully; What I would like to cite specifically are his comments that his reason of voting for President Obama was not political, but instead racially motivated. He states that he voted for President Obama in the hopes that the first black President would finally be elected in America, but when the next election came around he did not vote for President Obama due to the politics during his 1st term. This, among many other factors, is indicative that the voting process in America has been upset by the innate nature of bias. Bias is not a learned property, it is in fact something that we either have, or we don't; It is not something that can be embraced as though we wish to be biased. This bias applies to not only race, but age and gender as well. Perhaps we do not want a President as old as Bernie Sanders; Perhaps we do not want a female president; Perhaps we do want the first female president to be voted into office, but all bias comes at the expense of human dignity. These factors limit, if not destroy, the idea of a Democratic Society. The race baiting in our current society comes not just from politicians, but from the Mainstream Media, as it is the false narratives spread by numerous outlets that has brainwashed our current society into believing that race prevents you from success, when it is in fact people who prevent success, and ourselves who prevent successful behavior.

Political Party in a Democratic Society Political affiliations have become a focal point in current society; People have become unusually fixated on whether or not a candidate is liberal or conservative. This fixation is not only unhealthy for the individuals themselves, but for the entire country as a productive society. You can most assuredly blame this fixation on Mainstream Media, as they have taken it upon themselves to force a liberal agenda on those who are most vulnerable and ignorant due to bias, the general public. The idea that a candidate is not fit to lead this nation due to conservatism is completely unfounded, has no merit, and has no place in a Democratic Society.

4 Recently, Cornell University has admitted publicly that they are purposely keeping Republicans and Conservatives out of their staff. This, as you know, is actually illegal under state and federal law, as we are not allowed to turn applications away due to political affiliations or religious beliefs. Below I have taken snippets of Cornell staffs declaration of their views for you all to read; The views prevent the idea of a Democratic Society, they in fact enforce a view of dictatorship among students and staff. The following quotes come from Cornell faculty and students. Professors attempted to explain the striking imbalance in beliefs and were quoted as saying Republicans don’t belong at the university because they are “anti-science” and “anti-intellectual”. According to one student, there is not a single moderate or conservative professor in Cornell’s government department. “Placing more emphasis on diversity of political beliefs when hiring [would] almost certainly require sacrificing on general quality or other dimensions of diversity” government professor Andrew Little explained.

Conclusion The idea of a Democratic Society is indeed a Utopian thought, and as an independent scholar I find it difficult to believe the door to the future of a Democratic Society will be opened by political agenda. The more knowledge attained by independents given the opportunity to spread that knowledge through either academic studies, or public forums, will broaden the prospects of a Democratic Society. These times of Universities selecting only the finest students through exam scores, rather than actual performance and ability, has in fact hampered the chances of education being as wide-spread as it literally needs to be. Therefore we live in a society where politics, media, and bias have become preventive forces of nature, dooming us to disaster and strife.
