Processos de intervenção urbana e o papel do filme etnográfico enquanto mediador comunicativo

This paper discusses a proposal for use of ethnographic film in the context of the socio-urban rehabilitation process in Mouraria, an old neighborhood in the center of Lisbon. Focuses on an attempt to create a dialogue between the two most striking sights involved in the new socio-spatial reconfiguration: the institutional and the popular. Explores the possibility of using ethnographic film as a communication medium, able to create a space for awareness of others, asserting itself as a contribution t o the integrated participation and development of communicative methodologies.
