Sea-Lynx camera system is a heavy duty active laser camera. The camera use an image intensifier and laser and can operate in gated mode. This admits to see in a specific distance area where the start and stop point of the viewed area can be adjusted on demand. All areas outside the preset area is in darkness. Distance range is up to 1000 -1500 meter and the gated depth can be as short as 15 meter. The gating admits to see through bad weather. Distance increase is 3-5 times any other high class intensified camera as the reflexes of particles in the air in front of the viewed zone is discriminated away. This is highly efficient. The camera do also handle high dynamic images so areas with bright lamps and dark shadows can be viewed into the darkest corners. Water appears very dark and all parts in water are very white with a high contrast. This makes the system very useable in marine search and rescue applications and to see debris in water. Camera can operate in passive mode line any intensified camera or in active continuous mode where the laser is like an IR lamp. There is also a combined mode giving a mix of gated and large area and this is used for large area search.
