Prof. Dr. Suheil Bushrei The professor... and the international peace Many persons devoted their lives to anchor high supreme values such as peace and tolerance. They exerted themselves and made huge efforts for the purpose of cultural rapprochement and the promotion of diversity. They are persons who can be described as prodigiously «great" and their unique interest consists of uniting people under the umbrella of peace and paving the bridge of communication between civilizations and religions. How much did we miss these contributions when we eyewitnessed the persistent series of chaos and the continuous wars and destructions that we have made along with our extreme beliefs and our valueless traditions that are no longer with any importance to cope with today's challenges. In fact, these divergences raise the red flags to potential bloodily clashes and destructive quarrels in spite of being a source of enrichment. Death has picked out one of the remarkable man of literature and the international thinker Professor Suheil Bushrei, who devoted his entire life to the service of humanity and to unite all human races. He served humans from the deepness of his soul to achieve his obsessed ideas of humanity unit, peace and equality promotion all over the world. He left to us a priceless literary heritage which in turn eternizes his memory in the world of literature and knowledge. For sure, History will recall his memory when sorting through his academic achievements and his exceptional literary record. His life has been submerged by an exogenous spirituality in the deepness of his soul to let him work on promoting the values of peace, respect and humanity unit. Spiritual morals and humanity call for knowledge and literature have been intertwined to form a man with distinguishing qualities, a scholar with an unlimited knowledge, a loyal Arab and a pioneer in the communication between religions and cultures. He tried to erode progressively the gap between the east and the west and to let the Arabic culture shines through the world revealing its uniqueness and its humanistic values. He presided the Peace chair in the University of Maryland whose mission is to find peaceful solutions to solve clashes and put an end to wars by education and spirituality. He taught in many universities from Asia to Europe to Africa to finally settle down at the University of Maryland in the United States of America. He published dozens of books and studies and he received many awards and honors for his remarkable contributions and achievements notably "The international prize of

Evidently, he was inspired by «The poet of peace" Gibran Khalil Gibran and he consequently tried to lessen the human sufferings and slacken the chaos. His primary concern is to anchor peace and promote harmony.
