Sir: I read with great interest the article, "An unusual case of temporal encephalocele", by Tranmer et al. [5]. I think it would be appropriate to make some comments, with your kind permission. Temporal encephaloceles are indeed very rare congenital anomalies, originating at the pterion in most cases [1, 3]. Nevertheless, instances of temporal meningoencephaloceles originating in the temporal region, but at the posterolateral fontanel have also been described. I refer to our manuscript published in ~982 [2], and to another case that appeared approximately at the same time in the Handbook of Neuropediatrics edited by I. Pascual-Castroviejo [4]. Secondly, I would like to make a remark about the nationality of cases reported by Arseni and Horvath [1]. They were treated in Romania and not in Hungary, as stated by Tranmer et al. [5].

Sir:

It has come to my attention that there was a typographical error in my article, "Selective posterior rhizotomy for the treatment of spasticity: a review" [1]. In this article, Table 2 cites an incidence of bladder dysfunction of 11% to Dr. Peacock. This space should have been left blank. In fact, there is no mention of bladder complications in either of Dr. Peacock's articles cited in this review. I would like to apologize to Dr. Peacock for this incorrect citation and hope that it has caused him no inconvenience.
