A Conscious Technium

This is the beginning to a more extensive critique of Kevin Kelly's concept of the 'technium', as described in his book, "What Technology Wants". Kelly makes the claim that the technium is analogous to humanity's offspring, an autonomous child. This paper makes the argument that the technium is not an offspring, rather, it is analogous to humanity. When the technium becomes conscious, we will understand the full implications of being synonymous with it.
