H. P. Lovecraft is considered one of the most innovative writers of the horror genre due to his ability to renew it and add new elements to it. According to a large portion of literary critics, Lovecraft through his narratives, in which mysterious and supernatural events predominate, laid the foundations of the aesthetics of modern horror. Also in his major works, such as "The Call of Cthulu," the author extensively explored the concept of cosmic fear, aiming to produce in his stories intense effects of terror / horror and restlessness. Subsequently, other authors of weird tales, including Stephen King, have taken up this concept, aiming to cause these same effects, and also adapt it to the everyday world. Thus, in this article we seek to establish points of intersection between King's "Call of Cthulu" and "N.", from the way cosmic fear appears prominently in these two narratives.
