THE COMMUNITY CENTER:

The DRU complex in Ulft, the former iron foundry , has been given the status of an industrial heritage site.Since 2009 , the so called 'Portersgebourw' has housed a great many cultural events.


An architectural firm M+R redesigned the entire interior of this enormous building and brought with them some ne ideas.The concept for the changes was based on modern ,clean ,bright interior contrast to the rough industrial surroundings.


The consignment included a theatre, pop music area ,library, conference rooms, a grand café with kitchen ,workshop and exhibition halls.

DRU Cultuurfabriek
Industry Park is a unique area for living, work and recreation. The area is home to many facilities including a library, art gallery, pop music venue, restaurant, business meeting locations and education. Fun events are hosted here as well. Living at DRU Industry Park also means living in an environment with lots of nature. It is a perfect area for walking, cycling or taking a boat out on the water. All in all, it's a lovely place to live!

DRU Industry Park is a bustling, inspiring place for students as welll.Several educational institutes use classrooms at DRU Cultuurfabriek. At DRU Cultuurfabriek, they have a permanent internship location for their security guards in training.

The DRU Cultuurfabriek Community center is located in the northeast of the village Ulft,by the river Oude Ijssel,in Netherlands.
It is a renovation of the Porter building which was part of the DRU industry park and was functional as an iron foundary since the year 1754,but throughout the time these industries went bankrupt and were soon disfunctional by the year 1999.
Thus, in order to make some use of these industries for the betterment of the society it was converted into a cultural community center.
In addition to all these activities they also promote sporting events.





These sport events are often followed by concerts of pop and rock music where people from different near by villages and cities tend to visit.
