1. PRINCIPAL OF BOTTOM ASH CONVEYOR SYSTEM From Boiler Furnace Bottom End to Bottom Ash Silo The Bottom Ash Handling Systems consist of two (2) equipment, isolation device receives bottom ash from the furnace outlet and dropped into Submerged Scrapper Conveyor (SSC) and convey the bottom ash to the bottom ash storage silo, as shown in the below of drawing.

The Isolation Device effective capacity is 6M³ and storage the bottom ash inside of this device around eight (8) hours when the shut off the damper valves at the bottom of this device. In order to seal the boiler vacuum pressure (-300mmH2O) this device attached a water trough (gutter) surround the boiler bottom end at the upper side of isolation device. Normally, the shut off valves (hydraulic damper) are open position and bottom ash drop into water bath of the SSC directly. In case of the Emergency and/or maintenance period the shut off valves were closed by sequentially, after that move out the SSC and repair or replace some of the material or parts. The importance notice is the Isolation Device only can storage the bottom ash eight (8) hours interval, all of necessary works should be completed within eight (8) hours in case of boiler continues operation. 2

2. Operation Method of Bottom Ash Conveyor System The Control System consists of the Programmable Logical Controller (PLC) and HMI installed in the ESP control room. The one (1) PLC System including the Fly Ash and Bottom Ash Handling System combined together with HMI graphic control system. System Control Mode are: 1. Remote: Automatic control Mode 2. Local: Local Operation mode

Remote Ex: Step 1: HMI select the switch to Remote position Step 2: Press the button then start the Crusher motor Step 3: If the Crusher motor running 10 seconds, start the Submerged Scrapper Conveyor motor Step 4: When the level switch low level, make up water or service water will be added Step 5: When the temperature is high, make up water or service water will be added Step 6: If the service water will be added, open the water valve and start the Pit pump motor The Ash from Furnace drop into the Scraper Screw Conveyor, then Scraper Screw Conveyor transporting ash to Crusher, Crusher braked up the ash, and then the ash drop into Bottom Ash bin. Local Ex: 1, Submerged Scrapper Conveyor Step 1: LOP select the switch to Local position Step 2: Press the Start button then start the Submerged Scrapper Conveyor motor Step 3: Press the Stop button then stop the Submerged Scrapper Conveyor motor Or Step 1: HMI select the switch to Remote position Step 2: Press the Start button then start the Submerged Scrapper Conveyor motor Step 3: Press the Stop button then stop the Submerged Scrapper Conveyor motor
