Characteristics of Extraterrestrials

The debate on the existence of alien life forms that inhabit the
universe other than humanity is one that continues to rage on where
convincing arguments from both proponents and opponents of the ideology on
the existence of extraterrestrials exist. The evidence for and against the
existence of aliens is convincing in equal measure. However, if aliens were
to visit earth, what are the common characteristics that people should
expect to see or to find in the alien beings? The premise of this report is
to evaluate seven characteristics that are most certainly deceptive of the
traits of extra-terrestrials.

First, aliens should be expected to be aggressive. The illusion of a
peaceful encounter with aliens is a fallacy since the primal instinct of
any dominant species is its will to survive. In that respect, Strokes
(2013) advances that the world should expect an aggressive encounter with
beings from outer space since they would not be looking to coexist but to
replace humanity by wiping people from the face of the earth. For that
reason, aliens will seek to dominate the human world, and that would take
extinction of human life force from the face of the earth (Stokes, 2013;
Weird Worm, 2012).

Secondly, extraterrestrials are expected to be impersonal killers.
According to Strokes (2013), contrary to popular belief that is propagated
in movies where aliens confront human beings in a physical fight or using
weapons to kill humans, aliens will have advanced in intelligence to the
extent that the need for physical altercation would be negated. As such,
the annihilation of the human race would come in an unexpected form such as
the launch of a bio-attack killing all humanity in one sweep. Therefore,
people should not expect to engage in a physical fight for supremacy with
aliens as death would be certain to mankind almost instantaneously and
would catch humanity by surprise.

Thirdly, extraterrestrials are expected to harbour intergalactic
intelligence meaning that the intellectual capacity of aliens is expected
to by-pass that of humanity by several millennia if not intergalactic years
and measures of time. Therefore, the understanding of man is expected to be
dwarfed by that of the extraterrestrials that will appear like gods to
mankind. Further, the level of intelligence will make them use wits as
calculating creatures to outwit humanity that aliens will consider
creatures of lesser intelligence. Humanity should expect aliens to be steps
ahead intellectually (Learning Mind, 2016).

Fourthly, contrary to popular belief as propagated in movies and in a
majority of science fiction literature, extra-terrestrials will not have
supersonic strength such as the likes of Superman. As such, aliens that
will have travelled to earth from a different galaxy will have honed energy
conservation mechanism and efficiency that does not require the wastage of
muscle and the bulk of energy that strength requires. Instead, the superior
intellectual species will serve to have mastered the art of energy
efficiency. Therefore, people should not expect muscular beings or vehicles
that use up huge amounts of energy (Weird Worm, 2012).

Fifth, we should not expect aliens to wear space suits when visiting
earth. As such, due to their intellectual superiority, the aliens would not
attempt to make a landing on earth if they knew that the atmospheric
conditions did not support their life forms. Instead, they would move to
other galaxies in search of a habitable planet. However, if the planet
harbours any useful resources to the aliens, we should expect that the
aliens would immediately land on earth to explore and exploit the resources
they need for self-preservation of their species. Hence, people should not
expect aliens to be in space suits (Maskowitz, 2013).

The sixth characteristic of extraterrestrials is that they should be
immune to earth's viruses, pathogens, and bacteria. Being that the germs on
earth have taken millions of years to adapt and survive in various habitats
in the natural earth, the alien makeup or structure expected to be
fundamentally different from that of humanity based on their adaptations.
For that reason, it would be highly unlikely that bacteria that causes
disease in humans would also have the same impact or effect on an alien
species. Notably, viruses harmful to humans such as Influenza are harmless
to dogs the same analogy is expected of aliens (Learning Mind, 2016).

Eighth and lastly, we should not expect aliens to be cannibals or
herbivores for that matter. In other words, humanity should not fear that
aliens would characteristically be after our food or eat humans. As such,
it takes a high level of intelligence to develop the right store of energy
source or food source that should enable a space ship to travel across
galaxies. In that esteem, aliens will have honed the science of preserving
food that can last them unbelievably long periods of time, hence, negating
the need to feed on the life force on earth or any of the food found on
earth (Stokes, 2013).

In essence, the paper has delved into eight notable characteristics
traits that serve to explain the features of extra-terrestrials. In that
esteem, the characteristics of extraterrestrials discussed are the general
attributes that are likely to feature in the traits, physical features, and
behaviours of a being from outer space that has invaded earth. Among
characteristics discussed as super intelligence, lack of physical strength,
and the ability to enter earth's atmosphere without protective gear. Such
attributes and much more discussed in the analysis paint a vivid image of
what humanity should expect aliens to be like.
