CHOPIN POLONAISE AUSTRIA

H
ere is Chopin's, Military Polonaise used to set- up a gracious and formal and powerful means of greeting people. It is from a film, original titled, Die junge Kaiserin, which depicts parts of the life Elizabeth, the wife of Franz joseph, the Emperor of Austria – Hungary Empire. As we know in spite of their exalted positions their lives were tragic. Let us turn now to the video:

( Sissi (1953) )

This is such a striking video! What images! Do you not agree? Note the nicely done curtsies. If this film is an accurate depiction of the Court Ceremonial of the time we see that the Kaiser is kissing only the hands of the married Ladies: well almost, two out of the three aunts. This is what is known as a Cultural – Civilization.

An added bonus is that this film allows us to practice the German language.

Doesn't this give us an idea to use Polonaise music to greet people?
