Cultural Hegemony

Gramsci construes the hegemony as predominance of one social group over the others. The scope of the being predominance consists of not only economic and political control, but also guidance to subordinated groups at the whole composition of life, in other words, dominant social group perpetually leads the society concerning all aspects of social life. Gramsci elucidates nature of hegemony as living organism, which cultural hegemony is evolved and shaped by current reactions, ideas, beliefs, etc...  that can be articulated as weapons of social struggle in the society. Therefore, all social groups have a right and chance to possess cultural hegemony because of the social struggle.
