of concurrent file systems. We believe our work is of considerable interest to future file system designers, as well as people interested in understanding and modifying existing file system designs. The first phase of the DataMesh project is providing block-level services to its clients: the interface is in the form of read/write operations on sets of fixed-size data blocks. (You
