Use the following Design Brief template to outline and specify what you will be required to design. You are required to develop your own design brief, which will include the following key headings:

The Client:
This is who you will be creating the design for. It is a good idea to know some of the background of the client, e.g. where they are located, what they do, what their aims are, their history.

Purpose:
What will be the intended function of the design? Is it to raise awareness of a business, to inform, or to sell a product? This can be obtained from the assignment scenario.

Outcomes:
What exactly are you required to design? A poster, a business card, a logo? Go into detail about what you will include within each of the graphical material.



Target Audience:
Who the design is aimed at and where it will be used. This may be a combination of many factors including:
Gender
Age
Culture
Location
Interests
Socioeconomics

Constraints, specifications and key factors:
Are there any limits or specifications you need to work within? For example, specific content, documentation size, colour, media type, number of pages, the cost, the software used etc?
Are there any legal or ethical issues involved e.g. copyright or morally suitable content? Does anyone need to be consulted (client, users etc).
