Objetivos gerais Pretende-se que os alunos adquiram um conhecimento abrangente sobre as principais dinâmicas políticas da região do Médio Oriente e Norte de África, bem como sobre a sua posição e importância no contexto internacional contemporâneo, a partir de uma abordagem transdisciplinar. Objetivos de aprendizagem 1. Demonstrar um conhecimento genérico acerca da formação do sistema de Estados no Médio Oriente e Norte de África, bem como da sua evolução histórica geral subsequente. 2. Demonstrar conhecimento acerca de temáticas centrais para as dinâmicas políticas da região, nomeadamente em termos das relações Estado-sociedade, identidade, economia política, geopolítica, e intervenções de atores externos. 3. Demonstrar a capacidade de articular conceitos e dados empíricos na análise de estudos de caso. 4. Demonstrar capacidade de análise crítica, bem como de expressar uma opinião pessoal fundamentada. Processo de ensino-aprendizagem O método de ensino-aprendizagem desta unidade curricular assenta num conjunto de aulas expositivas sobre os diversos pontos do programa, seguidas de discussão com os alunos, de forma a reforçar a sua capacidade de análise. O docente irá aprofundar e esclarecer dúvidas. Os alunos dispõem de um conjunto de leituras recomendadas para cada tema. 1
Processo de avaliação a) Assiduidade e participação nas aulas: 20%; b) Apresentação oral: 30%; c) Comentário escrito: 50%. Os alunos devem preparar a sua participação nas aulas através da leitura antecipada dos textos recomendados (no mínimo, os textos recomendados como essenciais). Na parte prática das aulas os estudantes terão de contribuir para o debate de forma ativa e fundamentada, com base em ferramentas analíticas e dados empíricos. As apresentações orais (individuais ou grupo) serão baseadas num texto indicado pelo docente. O comentário escrito centrar-se-á também num texto indicado pelo docente e deverá conter entre 750 e 1000 palavras. A data limite para entrega dos trabalhos escritos é o dia 14 de abril de 2015.
