Documentcraft

This is my dissertation research prospectus, an initial literature review conducted for advancement to doctoral candidacy. The prospectus begins with a survey of the literature in document theory. It then surveys the literature in information behavior, looking for ties to document studies and seeking to identify the key areas for further research. One key area is in-the-moment engagement with information-as-thing, which can be approached through the research perspectives of "information experience" and "document experience." Next, the literature on craft and its relevance to life meaning and purpose are explored in order to establish a context for an empirical study on document experience.
