Descrição do Produto

How Corydon describes himself
'artless monologue' – Refers to himself as not a talented singer
'How rich in flocks, how affluent in snowy milk./My thousand ewe-lambs range the hills of Sicily.' – Successful farmer so is showing off his success to Alexis.
'I play the tunes Amphion used' – talented musician typical of a pastoral character.
'I'm not that ugly' – boastful

Summary
Corydon is a shepherd who is lamenting about his love for the young boy Alexis.
He involves descriptions of why he is suited and of his many lovers depicting himself as a typical pastoral lover.
Corydon seems to be attempting to rationalise his feelings and comes to the conclusion that although he is burning in love he gives the idea that if it fails he will find another.
Eclogue 2

Stock Character
Typical pastoral shepherd in love and lamenting about the young boy in pastoral form.
Lots of natural imagery is used to convey this.
Lots of similarities to Polyphemus in Idyll 11: 'I'm not that ugly', boasting about his flock

Individual
Doesn't seem to be a typical hopeless lover, we don't sympathise with him as much as we do say for Polyphemus.
Seems to be more of an internal struggle, he has other lovers and at the end he suggests he can find another, whereas Polyphemus is more hopeless and nothing will come from his laments so we sympathise more.
