Objetivo da disciplina Essa disciplina optativa tem por objetivo o aprofundamento de temas relativos aos estudos da geografia política e da geografia das fronteiras. Embora o foco esteja voltado para os Estudos Estratégicos, pretendemos também aproveitar esse espaço para debater assuntos relacionados aos estudos geopolíticos, dando uma ênfase específica nos estudos de fronteira, dentro do campo das Relações Internacionais. Da mesma forma, assuntos como a geografia política, border studies, estudos de casos práticos e a segurança na faixa de fronteira serão abordados ao longo do curso, e reforçados com a presença de convidados externos para debater assuntos específicos. A estrutura do curso é formada por três blocos: o primeiro “Estudos de fronteira como campo de conhecimento interdisciplinar” propõe apresentar os principais conceitos que serão abordados ao longo do curso. O segundo bloco “Conceitos e problemas dos estudos de fronteira” propõe realizar um diálogo entre as diversas áreas, procurando entender os desdobramentos sociais e políticos das fronteiras, levando o caso da África, entre outras. Finalmente, o terceiro e último bloco “Geopolítica das fronteiras: estudos de caso” procura analisar as principais regiões do planeta a partir dos estudos de fronteira, como forma de entender problemas geopolíticas cada vez mais complexos. Em função da carga de leitura importante das matérias obrigatórias, os textos que disponibilizamos na xerox são artigos científicos publicados recentemente, a maioria em português. Portanto, a exigência mínima será o fichamento dos dois textos para servir de base para o trabalho entre a turma e o professor. Uma bibliografia complementar é disponível no final da ementa para os alunos desejando aprofundar determinadas questões abordadas nocurso. Avaliação Os critérios da avaliação da disciplina são os seguintes: duas provas (P1 e P2) em sala de aulas. A nota final (NF) do discente é obtida a partir da média aritmética (NF=P1+P2/2). A frequência é obrigatória, conferindo 25% de faltas, de acordo com o estipulado pelas normas acadêmicas da Instituição, bem como as normas legais sobre a frequência. A participação do aluno é importante para o bom funcionamento da dinâmica do curso.
