Estudos da linguagem e questões étnico-raciais: contribuições e limites´/Language studies and ethnic-racial issues: contributions and limitations

In the last decades, have been presented different modes of discourse analysis to thesocial sciences and language studies as a theoretical and methodological possibility to generateunderstandings of institutions, social groups and social identities. This article aims to reflectabout the contributions that such studies have been offering for understanding of contemporaryissues, proposing, also, some paths from which specifically ethno-racial issues may beunderstood in a discursive journey of research. For such, we will review specifically the analysisof enunciative speech (Rocha and Deusdará, 2006; Rocha, 2006), the critical discourse analysis(Fairclough, 1999; 2001; van Dijk, 2008) and interactional sociolinguistics, with itsramifications in intercultural approaches (Gumperz, 1982), the social stigma (Goffman, 1988)and narrative analysis (Bastos, 2008; Bastos and Biar, 2015). The focus of this review lies onthe different theoretical assumptions, methodological ways, potential and limitations ofapproaches's analysis
