Jehro Des Tehro Wes (When in Rome, do as the roman do) Mansoor Mirani, Researcher Once Watayo Faqeer (a wise character of Sindhi folklore) went to a wedding ceremony of rich community. He went there in his usual outfit, a torn and Rallee (Quilt) made dress. As soon he entered there, security guards surrounded him and sent him out of that ceremony. He was disappointed, later he tried to enter by putting on dress of rich. In rich-man's outfit, he was obliged and was given front chair in the ceremony. When eating time approached and dishes were offered, he did not eat anything himself but he rubbed that with his clothes, whole dress was coloured. When people ask him why you did this, he said meal was not offered to me but this dress, earlier when I came in my original outfit they did not allow me to enter.

Adopting culture becomes sometimes very much important. Once a teacher of mine, went to visit Scotland for the higher studies, he used to speak English in British accent but Scottish people did not like him and looked at him in anger then he adopted their accent, way of speaking and attitude, lastly everything was fine. Many wars are enraged due to ethnic and cultural dissimilarities, In Pakistan, Sindhi-Muhajir conflict continues since the creation of Islamic Republic Pakistan. Although this war is resources based, opportunity based yet due to cultural affinities people from both the communities find difficulty to settle. It is observed fact that when Urdu and Sindhi speaking people inter mingle, if the people of any of the community are in majority they create group and support each other. Not in terms of division but they find better understanding among each other. Minority group has to settle with them and keep things according to majority as to avoid any misunderstanding.

Ethnicity and culture are the major divisional factors in the human diaspora. In earlier times Negroes were considered as the lower grade community and they were only used for slavery and labour. They were lived under immense torture. They were claimed as coloured because they were black and unfortunately they were not able to change to colour to white to get social status. While it is a fact that throughout the history societies have remained status quo, some societies grand status on base of power, colour and others see language and culture.

After geopolitical advances, nations have boundaries and now emigration rules have been introduced everywhere. Like if one has to settle or study in America or UK it is mandatory for him/her to learn their language first before entering that country. For Australia and New Zealand, TOEFL is the test of English language and one who qualifies he is given preference for jobs and education opportunities.

In a nutshell to follow the proverb "When in Rome, do as the Roman do" is equally important to follow as giving preference to our own cultures and ethnicities.
