Jogando com a etnografia: o método etnográfico em pesquisas sobre comunidades gamers

This article reflects upon the ethnographic method through the accomplishment of a bibliographical review. It is divided in three sections according to their points of approach: I) the fundamental concepts, based on the anthropological tradition and concepts of culture; II) the application of the ethnography on the Communication field, related to the subject of the Cyberculture and the specificities of the method analysed on the communication mediated by information technologies; III) criticism of the Brazilian academic productions which have used ethnography on researches on gamers communities. We come to conclusion that ethnography represents a challenge of adaptative application.Moreover, it lacks scientific rigor.
