Musician, lecturer and researcher. Graduated in Arts, license in Music Education, from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Master of Music from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and Doctor of Music from the Federal University of the Rio de

Janeiro State (UNIRIO). Alumnus fellow of the Brazilian development agencies CAPES (2003-2004, 2005-2009) and CNPq (2012-2014). From 2012 to 2014, post-doc researcher at the São Paulo State University Julio Mesquita Filho (IA-UNESP). Published papers in several

music periodicals and magazines. Experience in the areas of interpretation and musical performance, theory of interpretation and theory of performance, as well on their interfaces with philosophy, education and culture.

Born in Berlin, Germany, I studied acoustic guitar, electric guitar and percussion and performed solo, in duo and trio settings as well with

big band, experimental music and theatre ensembles. Attracted by Brazilian music, I moved to the city of Rio de Janeiro, where I lived from 1980 until 2015.

My research focuses on issues related to the Art of Performance, Musical Interpretation, Musical Experience and Cognition. This includes Musical Interpretation, Theory of Interpretation, Musical Performance, Performance Theory, Aesthetics and their interfaces with Education, Art and Culture in a pluralistic, intercultural context.

Janeiro (UFRJ). Mestre em Música pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) e Doutor em Música pela Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO). Ex-bolsista das agências de fomento CAPES e CNPq. De 2012 a 2014, pesquisador pós-doutor pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio Mesquita Filho (IA/UNESP).

Publicou nas revistas 'Opus', 'Per Musi', 'Revista Brasileira de Música', 'El Oido Pensante', 'Arte Filosofia' e 'Revista de História da

Biblioteca Nacional'. Possui experiência nas áreas de interpretação e performance musical, teoria da interpretação e teoria da performance, bem como em suas interfaces com a filosofia, a educação e a cultura. Musiker, Musikwissenschaftler, Dozent und Publizist (Brasilien).
