Mãe, esposa e dona do lar: representações da mulher no Jornal Folha do Norte do Paraná

This text aims to analyze the representations of women presented in Catholic press in northern Paraná, in order to discuss about values, behaviors, relationships that permeate the contents of the newspaper. It was tabulated the content that referred to the woman in editions of Folha do Norte do Paraná newspaper (1968-1969), based on analysis of the following categories: women's column, police reports, advertising, religion and others. In the representations of woman presented, it was identified influences of the historical context and the cultural, social, political and economic transformations that marked the 1960s. Representations present in the newspaper are carriers of values, behaviors and norms, many of them reinforced by religious doctrine, guiding models to follow and those to be rejected.
