By 2030 the demand of Fuel will increase upto 20 billion tonnes….
Fact about Fuel!!
Non-Renewable Resources : Nuclear Fuel
Nuclear Fuel is the other form of non-renewable resource used to produce energy, nuclear fuels, is primarily obtained through the mining and refining of uranium ore.

Nuclear Fuels
Non-Renewable Resources : Fossil Fuel
There are three Fossil Fuels:
Crude Oil/Petroleum - Crude oil is a non-renewable resource that builds up in liquid form between the layers of the Earth's crust.
Gas - Natural gasses gather below the Earth's crust and, like crude oil, must be drilled for and pumped out.
Coal - Coal is the last of the major fossil fuels. Created by compressed organic matter, it is solid like rock and is obtained via mining.

Resources
What is Perpetual Resources?
Perpetual Resource
Perpetual resources are those resources that have rate of use, but they cannot be depleted.
Wind, water, biomass and sunlight are used in many different ways, but they are never depleted. Water has hydraulic energy, which is harnessed through hydroelectric plants and dams, and transformed into electric power. Solar energy can be converted into heat or electric power for use. With the use of turbines, wind is used in making electric energy. Biomass contains energy that can be turned into electric energy, caloric energy or used to create bio-fuel.
FUN FACTS:
You burn more calories sleeping than you do watching TV (ok, now you can go take a nap).
Walking is the most sustainable means of Transportation.
Scale of Sustainability
Sustainability
Sustainability is based on a simple principle: Everything that we need for our survival and well-being depends, either directly or indirectly, on our natural environment. Sustainability creates and maintains the conditions under which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony, that permit fulfilling the social, economic and other requirements of present and future generations.
Sustainability is important to making sure that we have and will continue to have, the water, materials, and resources to protect human health and our environment.
FUN FACTS:
This year, Nokia had released a windows phone with a battery life that could last 1 month without charging!
Non-Renewable Resources : Fossil Fuel
Fossil Fuels are classified as biotic resources because they were formed from the decay of organic matter which has been trapped between layers of sediments within the Earth over millions of years.

What are the Common Renewable Resources?
Renewable Resource
Renewable is an organic natural resource that can replenish in due time compared to the usage, either through biological reproduction or other naturally recurring processes. Renewable resources are a part of Earth's natural environment and the largest components of its ecosphere. A positive life cycle assessment is a key indicator of a resource's sustainability.

Categories of Natural Resources
Resources can be also categorized into two:
Renewable
Non-Renewable
Common Renewable Resources
Alcohol - Used in the production of biodiesel
Algae - Can be harvested and made into jet fuel, biodiesel and biobutanol
Animal fat - Used to make biodiesel or bioplastic
Bark and sawdust - Used for heat and power
Barley - Can make fuel ethanol
Corn - Used to make ethanol to power cars and heat homes
Common Renewable Resources
Corn starch - Used to make bioplastic
Crop residues - Such as wheat straw or corn stover
Duckweed - Used fore ethanol production
Geothermal energy - The heat of the Earth and comes from under the ground. Power plants use this as well as geothermal heat pumps for homes.
Hydropower - Uses moving water to generate electricity in dams, rivers, ocean surface waves and the tides in the ocean
FUN FACTS:
During the time it takes you to read this sentence, 50,000 12-ounce aluminum cans are made.
What Categories of Non-Renewable Resources?
Non-Renewable Resources
Non-Renewable Resources (also called a finite resource) is a resource that does not renew itself at a sufficient rate for sustainable economic extraction in meaningful human time-frames. An example is carbon-based, organically-derived fuel. The original organic material, with the aid of heat and pressure, becomes a fuel such as oil or gas. Fossil fuels and certain aquifers are all non-renewable resources.

FUN FACTS:
Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to run a TV for three hours.

FUN FACTS:
October 13, 2014.
Scientists at Singapore's Nanyang Technological University (NTU) created a lithium ion battery that can get up to a 70 percent charge in just 2 minutes and can allegedly last up to 20 years. This battery could one day allow electric cars to fuel up as fast as gassing up.
Classification of Natural Resources
There are different ways to classify natural resources, including where they come from and if they are renewable or not.

What are the Origins of Natural Resources?
What are Natural Resources?
Natural Resources are useful raw materials that we get from the Earth. They occur naturally, which means that humans cannot make natural resources. Instead, we use and modify natural resources in ways that are beneficial to us.
What is Abiotic?
Abiotic originated from nonliving and inorganic materials. For example, air, sunlight, and water are abiotic natural resources. Minerals (gold, copper, iron, diamonds) are also considered abiotic.
