O SAVE DARFUR COALITION E A RESPONSABILIDADE DE PROTEGER

This paper discusses the transnational activism of the Save Darfur Coalition in order to understand how the organization's campaigns lost motion over the years, succeeding the low presence of its campaigns in the international and American media. For such, the work reconstructs the origins of the conflict between the Sudanese government and rebels in Darfur, the campaign strategies of the Save Darfur Coalition ruled on allegations of "Genocide" committed by Sudan and parallel linking the "Genocide" with the international policy and development and attempts to apply the principles of ―Responsibility to Protect‖ in Darfur by the States leading actors in the Global Governance Structure of Human Rights. Concluding that the Save Darfur Coalition campaigns lost motion because it depended on the condition of the United States as an international norm entrepreneur, but the State action was already undermined by the invasion of Iraq and the policies adopted by the government.
