Descrição do Produto

This research seeks to discuss elements from Southern proto-Jê landscape of the Ribeira de Iguape Valley, located in Adrianópolis – PR, through a regional and systemic approach of Landscape Archaeology. This work was based on the material culture of two lithic-ceramic sites, associated with the Itararé-Taquara archaeological tradition, dated between 630BP and 580BP. Through the lithic technological and tipological analysis and spatial modeling using Geographic Information System (GIS), the objective of this research is to interpret the settlement pattern and mobility of these groups in a broad regional context. The interpretation of the lithic artifacts identified a preferential choice of the raw material for instrument production and was able to identify the transport of the raw material through the valley and conservation strategies such as maintenance and recycling of instruments. The GIS modeling used a methodology based on hydrological analysis to calculate the energetic cost of movement heading to the site. It was also calculated the routes, nodes and mobility basins, in an area of 3068 km². The model resulted in the definition of a series of routes and six different mobility areas. However, with the model we were able to see that in the exact place of an important node that connects several main access routes there is a proto-Jê funerary site. In this research it was possible to demonstrate the employment of spatial modeling is a great way to interpret the archaeological landscape, highlighting the mutual relations between the physiographic, social, political and symbolical aspects that together make up the landscape.
