353 Entre la recherche et la pratique : regard sur le processus de conception d'une séquence d'enseignement basée sur l'activité mathématique au premier cycle du secondaire Valériane Passaro (étudiante au doctorat en éducation-Abstract The preoccupation of a teacher about the difficulties encountered by high school students during the learning of the function concept has brought us to explore the subject. Numerous studies have pointed out problems related to the coordination of representation registers. The conversion activity, to the coordination source, is nevertheless widely underestimated in traditional teaching. That’s why we have constructed a teaching sequence, in which the conversion activity is one of the principal preoccupations. As we chose to consider theoretical and practical ideas in the conception of this sequence, we have taken into account either results of research studies and the Quebec high school program orientations. Thus, the characteristics of this sequence , and furthermore the work on conversions, are the consideration of spontaneous representations , the placement in student action, as well as a qualitative approach of the situation to help the understanding of the covariational phenomenon. The results show, among others, that spontaneous representations of the students are varied, original and exploitable, but that their degree of abstraction is far from the conventional representation.
