1. Locality name, toponym and administrative placement: Sântana, “La nord de oraș”, Arad County (fig. 1). 2. Type of settlement: C – mound-like settlement. 3. Location: The site is located on the edge of the town, 150 – 200 m north from the old water treatment plant (fig. 2). 4. Type of landscape: B – grind. 5. History of research: In 2007, following reports from local residents, reverend Lucian Mercea found a large amount of pottery fragments scattered on the surface of the site. As a result, he proceeded to inform archaeologists from Arad Mus., who concluded that we are actually dealing with a large and important Bronze Age mound-like settlement (Gogâltan, Sava 2010, 39 – 40). 6. Type of research: C – surface investigations.

Archaeological finds: During several field walks, a large collection of ceramic and lithic fragments were recovered. Also, we can add a bronze saltaleone previously found by L. Mercea. The site seems to be indeed a complex one, at least two ditches being observed on the field. The diameter of this site is estimated to be around 90 × 100 / 120 m. 12. Storage location of artefacts and inventory numbers: Arad Mus. 13. Dating: Middle Bronze Age.
