Technical Program Chairs’ Message Welcome to the 19th IEEE International Symposium on Intelligent Signal Processing and Communication Systems (ISPACS), being held December 7-9, 2011 in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I would like to encourage you all to attend and actively participate in the symposium. Wireless communication, intelligent signal processing for image, video and acoustic, modern antennas for UWB communications, RFID and other applications are complex systems that require significant knowledge of electromagnetic field theory, antenna element design, active and passive microwave circuit technology, adaptive signal processing, networking as well as circuit and system implementations and techniques. The 2011 symposium will take three days duration and includes 24 oral presentation sessions, plenary and special sessions, and a poster session. Approximately 170 papers are scheduled for presentation at the 2011 symposium. I express my gratitude to the members of the Technical Program Committee, the members of the Associated Technical Committee and the members of the Symposium Organizing Committee in producing a program that provides a wealth of technical information regarding the present and future trends of signal processing and communication technologies. Finally, “Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen”. We are all encouraged to have this courage to make things successful.
