TORONTO 2015 Pan Am / Parapan Am PoetTree Project: The Poetry of Sports & the Sport of Poetry
PARTICIPATE in the creation of the York University TO2015 Pan Am / Parapan Am Poet‐Tree installation, an IGNITE community partner of the Games! Send in original poems of your own or of verses (max. 6 lines) by your favourite poet from one of the 41 represented countries competing in the Toronto 2015 Pan American / Parapan American Games . Include your name, email and/or postal address and phone number, to be entered to win a monthly prize (February – July 2015). Poems can be in any of the languages spoken in the 41 countries. The Games will be taking place in Ontario July 10‐26 and August 7‐15, 2015. Before then, Canada will be preparing to welcome athletes and visitors from across the globe to Toronto and surrounding cities, and we will be building poet‐trees as a sign of celebration! York University venues will host the Athletics and Tennis matches, and the opening ceremonies of the Parapan Am Games. (panam2015.info.yorku.ca/). At the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am / Parapan Am Games, 7,600 top athletes from the Americas and Caribbean will compete at more than 30 venues located in 16 municipalities across southern Ontario.
