Vitalis Nujimem-Esque Travelogue
My trip to Manhattan look like the reality of Benjamin Franklin thought in his letter to Joseph Priestley. Franklin said, "It is impossible to imagine the height to which may be carried, in a thousand years, the power of man over matter." At first, when I arrived in the street of Manhattan I knew nothing was impossible. The beauty alone made Franklin beliefs hit me harder and harder that I found it very difficult to dissent.
Trusting the story___
At a point where beauty lies
doubtfulness stays shallow
On the second day of my arrival, I visited The Chelsea Recreational Center, The American Museum of Natural History, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Literallyspeaking, after visiting these centers, I began meditating on Franklin's idea and the height which science has embraced. The joy of visiting Manhattan was over-the-top that it cannot be measured. When I sweep through the neighborhood with people from other countries happiness became my friend, but the most exciting part of my travel to Manhattan results from their super friendly attitude and behavior. As I tour The American Museum of Natural History, these visitors tell stories about sculptures that help in keeping the tour lively. Psychologically, this behavior was astonishing and overwhelming as it is not often in the days when men power over matter was fluffy.
The next morning ___
Brings joyousness and happiness
in midst of others
That same day, I traveled back to my dwelling spot, but the crowd I encountered at 42nd street aroused a thought about The Heart Sutra. The Heart Sutra as it means is a great work that defines material and material life as illusion and unreality. In addition to its purpose, "Matter is voidness and voidness is matter." Base on this idea, the earth and it resources is perfect as it is and we should not alter it by any means. Although, I completely disagreed with this perpetual myth, the future of these natural resources became doubtful as I watch men and women moved swiftly to board trains and buses.
Returning with bliss___
The passenger of new world
symbolize threat of myth
After reaching my dwelling, the aroma of a roasted Teriyaki chicken from a Chinese restaurant and the smell of Sushi from a Japanese Cuisine rain in my room. To me, diversity is taking over the entire city. The moment I step out my door, a stranger came to me and issued me an invitation to attend a party in the neighborhood. As I approached the party that afternoon, I learned from other invitee's that it was a baby naming ceremony. I also heard that the father of the baby was African-American and the mother a tall Asian American lady with light-haired. While music cries day and night at the party, the nearby clubs and restaurants echo their speakers making the neighborhood look almost like a diverse being.
To conclude, my visit to Manhattan was not only a reflection of the power of man over matter through the magnificent work of science as Ben Franklin would make us believe; it also makes the memories of my country boring that I felt a need not to return back home. At this instance, the skyscraper, the modern architecture, and the remarkable and famous centers I visited changed my ways of reasoning entirely. I felt a touch that the whole world could be just like Manhattan if we strive, advocate, and encourage the study and finding of science.
