As we see there is a deep interrelation between forensic psychology and law enforcement setting. There are numerous professional positions and employment possibilities for forensic psychologists. They can be practiced at several different employment settings. When an individual is accused of a crime and sentenced to time within the prison system or a psychiatric treatment facility, a forensic psychology expert performs evaluations of the individual's behaviour. Among other factors considered, the evaluation will look for indications that the individual has violent tendencies that could pose a risk to self or others. In order to provide safety for everyone involved, the individual must be placed, according to his mental state, in the most low-risk environment. To assess the mental condition of the accused, the forensic psychologist uses variety of predictive tools. They provide probabilistic view of the accused individual.
