Women by Chuah Kee Man (8 March 2015) Men should have learned by now Never belittle women anyhow For they are made to last Like an unbreakable glass. The gloss of their lips The lure of their hips Their fragile outer layers May be fitting for the players. Yet, what’s hidden inside Not many men can abide. The silent tears at night The pain from the lonely fight All but covered with a plain “I’m okay” again and again. Respect is a rare gift for them Like a flower without a stem They still brighten up the day Hiding their sorrows away. Men should have learned by now Never belittle women anyhow For they are destined to stride Remarkably side by side.
